In the West End, Stage Entertainment has produced Contact, The Full Monty, Spend Spend Spend and Blue Man Group. With its recently expanded UK operations the company has produced Fame in the West End as well as the UK tours of Fame and Lady Salsa. Stage Entertainment UK recently entered into a partnership with the Shaftesbury Theatre in London, where the company is producing the multi-award winning Hairspray.
As well as Hairspray the company also currently produces the UK tour of Disney’s High School Musical, and produced a second production which played at the Hammersmith Apollo in the summer of 2008. In addition Stage Entertainment UK is also the co-producer of the sell out national arena tour of Strictly Come Dancing Live!
Our parent company, Stage Entertainment, was founded in 1998 by Joop van den Ende and now employs around 4,000 people worldwide, with bases in the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, France, the UK, the United States, Russia, Belgium and Italy.
In recent years it has worked with international partners to produce and tour the world’s biggest musical theatre titles including with Disney Theatrical Productions (Tarzan, The Lion King, Aida, Beauty and the Beast, High School Musical), Littlestar (MAMMA MIA!), Andrew Lloyd Webber/Really Useful Group (Cats, Phantom of the Opera, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Joseph), Jacobsen Entertainment (Dirty Dancing) and Vereinigte Bühne Wien (Roman Polanski’s Tanz der Vampire, Elisabeth). The company also develops and produces its own original work, such as 3 Musketeers, Wind of Change, Musicals in Ahoy, Best of Musical!, Ich war noch Niemals in New York, Ciske de Rat, Ich Will Spass!, Der Schuh des Manitu and Sister Act.
The company is also proud of its portfolio of around 30 independently owned theatres and venues. Stage Entertainment has invested heavily in audience relations and customer care, a philosophy that stretches from foyer design to programming, exemplified in spaces as diverse as Fortis Circustheater in the Netherlands and the Theater im Hafen in Hamburg to the unique New World Stages, a five stage complex in New York City. 14 million people visit Stage Entertainment’s shows and performance spaces each year.
Stage Entertainment is a shareholder in See Tickets International which sells 40 million tickets annually.
