Sister Act is a wonderful story and it really is a very moral show: it's about redemption and it's about change. Everybody changes somewhere. It's about compromise and compromise is about living with people and learning about how you've changed.

The Sister Act Education Resource Pack has been developed by Mousetrap Theatre Projects in association with Stage Entertainment UK.

The resource pack provides unique behind the scenes material and invaluable resources to help you get the best out of your visit to the show and find out more about the performing arts business and about how this production came together, as well as providing follow-up activities for dynamic learning.

Designed to be flexible to a range of needs, the pack allows teachers to adapt the numerous learning activities to create lessons for students of a range of abilities and to suit a variety of teaching methods for both individual and group work. The materials incorporate a range of techniques to ensure a lesson's fluidity and sufficient variety to keep pupils engaged.

The pack is downloadable as a 23-page booklet. As well as a variety of teaching ideas, it includes: a full synopsis of the show; a look at the stage adaptation from the original film version; a 'Who's Who' look at the creative team; encouraging further student research; insight into the rehearsals; interviews with Ian Lavender (who plays Monsignor Howard) and several other members of the company and production team; a study of the benefits of singing and a brief look into the lives of real nuns. The pack also offers drama activities and a marketing design worksheet, as well as a study into directorial decisions, and suggested books and websites for further learning.

Subject suitability: Performing Arts, Drama, Music, Musical Theatre, Dance, Business, RE and Citizenship, Art and Design.

Age range: 10-19 years. Key stage 3, GCSE, GNVQ.
